Terms and Conditions

the Highland Whisky Academy accepts clients are booking under the following terms and conditions.
Highland Whisky Academy
At the time of confirming booking, a non-refundable deposit of 25% must be paid. The full balance must be received at least 28 days before tour commencement date. A reminder email will be generated before the deadline. In the event, if a tour is ordered within 28 days of the commencement date, 100% balance must be paid.

For cancellation, by the client, following payment of deposit, this will be refundable if cancellation is more than 28 days prior to commencement date of confirmed tour. Where the balance owing on a tour is not paid prior to 28-day deadline then we reserve the right to cancel the tour and retain the deposit after consultation with client.

Notification of cancellation must be submitted via email to info@highlandwhiskyacademy.com, quoting reference number.

Where notification of cancellation has been received at least 28 days prior to commencement of a tour, and final balance paid, the following schedule of refunds will apply:
  • Within 27-14 days before tour date, client will receive 50% of balance
  • If between 13-0 days before tour date, there will be no refund
the Highland Whisky Academy reserve the right to cancel trips under exceptional circumstances or Force Majeure. In such cases clients will be offered to reschedule or refund.
Minimum Ages
The Highland Whisky Academy operates a minimum age of 18 for attendees.

The consumption of alcohol is major part of the Academy so all guests must be at least 18 years of age. In some cases, visitors may be required to provide proof of age. UK legislation does operate a challenge 25 law.

All the above terms shall be construed and interpreted in accordance within the Law of Scotland and all parties submit to the jurisdiction of the Scottish Courts.

Transportation
Any deliberate damages to any of our vehicles or contents within will be charged at cost + 25% plus any costs of cancelled future tours occurred as a result of the inactivity of vehicle due to unscheduled repair.

Should our transport be detained or taken on a longer journey than contracted for, the Highland Whisky Academy reserves the right to make additional charges commensurate with the cost incurred.

The Highland Whisky Academy have accounted for drivers' hours and sufficient rest periods for each of the tours and experiences offered.
The Highland Whisky Academy reserves the right to provide a large vehicle than the specified at no additional charge. We also reserve the right to substitute another vehicle or ancillary facilities for all or part of the hiring subject to substitutes being of similar quality. The Highland Whisky Academy gives it advice on journey times in good faith. However, as a result of breakdown, traffic congestion or other events beyond our control, journeys may take longer than predicted and, in those circumstances, we will not be liable for any loss or inconvenience suffered by the clients as a result. Passengers Property

All Highland Whisky Academy vehicles are subject to restrictions on carrying luggage for statutory safety reasons. The driver shall be the sole judge as to whether and to what extend passengers property is carried. The Highland Whisky Academy will not accept liability for any damage or loss of any property left on any of the vehicles. Smoking is NOT permitted on any of the Highland Whisky Academy's vehicles.

Complaints
Any complaint in respect to the Highland Whisky Academy services and provisions must be made in writing to the Highland Whisky Academy office within fourteen (14) days from completion of the academy.
Force Majeure
The Highland Whisky Academy does not accept any liability for any loss, inconvenience or damage caused by war, threat of war riot or civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural disaster, fires, sickness, weather conditions, airport regulations, temporary, technical, mechanical or electrical breakdown of transport or any facilities contained within advertised accommodation, explosion of any nuclear plant or part thereof or radioactivity/contamination arising from such plant or events beyond the reasonable control of the Highland Whisky Academy.
